About Viko Yachts

Viko Yachts Range, Reviews & Information

Viko Yachts is owned by Navikom, a company founded in 1987 in Poznan, Poland by the famous yachtsman Andrzej Koschel. During its first decade the company sought out its niche in the yacht building industry, experimenting with different designs and developing production technology.

Viko achieved its first major success in 2004 when it launched the Viko 20. The boat proved incredibly popular and, as a result, the company sold more than 1000 boats of this design within a few short years. The Viko 23 and Viko 25 soon followed and Viko Yachts firmly established itself in the small cruiser category.

Since 2013 Viko has been actively cooperating with the famous Italian  Sergio Lupoli. The result of this collaboration were a series of contemporary ‘sport’ designs including the S30, the S22, S26 and S21. In 2013 the Viko S 22 was awarded the Premio Italia per la Vela for the best design of a sailing yacht and became a sailing yacht of the year in Poland the following year. The S21 also became a swift success, becoming an international best seller. Indeed, all the Viko ‘S’ models have proved popular – sales across the range have propelled Viko to become one of the largest European manufacturers, now producing around 200 yachts per year. Following the successful launch of the S35 Viko has proven that the brand can even deliver affordable yachts at the luxury end of the market.

Today, the company operates two production sites in Poznan and Gdansk, with a combined area of over 10,000 square metres. The workshops are equipped with modern equipment for production of GRP moulds by manual and resin infusion method, as well as interior elements. With such impressive facilities and exacting production techniques customers can be assured that their future boat orders are in good hands.

All Viko yachts are cleverly designed to enable cost effective manufacture whilst delivering sound quality standards.  Like many European yacht manufacturers Viko manufacture their boats in Poland where labour rates are lower than elsewhere, but this is only part of the reason why Viko Yachts are so affordable. Due to their success over the last two decades Viko have built up large state-of-the-art manufacturing operations, building over 200 yachts per year at their sites in Poznan and Gdansk. This volume has provided enviable economies of scale.

Viko Yachts have a long history of making trailer sailers. Real success started in 2004 with the Viko 20 which proved so popular that over 1000 examples were built. Since then Viko have teamed up with world renowned designer, Sergio Lupoli, who has helped to create Viko’s S-range of stunning designs. These boats have contemporary hull shape, boasting a high freeboard to provide dry, comfortable sailing and plenty of room in the cabin. A range of lift keel options on all their trailable yachts enables them to float in very shallow water so they are easy to mount onto a trailer.  Coupled to super light displacement these characteristics make the smaller Vikos some of the best trailer sailing boast on the market.

The S-range of Viko yachts currently comprises: S21, S22, S26, S30 and the S35. All of these boats are available through Boats on Wheels in the UK. The S21 and S22 are phenomenally popular trailer sailers due to their low displacement and, with lift keels providing low draught, easy trail-ability. Despite their modest proportions these models have an enormous amount of room down below with cavernous rear berths and lots of headroom. The S26 adds even more space in a trailerable format, being light enough to tow, but delivers equally well as a small family cruising yacht with both outboard and inboard engine options as well as tiller or wheel steering. The S30 and S35 offer both a large amount of room as well as ultimate luxury for those seeking comfort during their stay on-board. Yet, Viko deliver all these yacht models at market-beating affordable pricing.

Boats on Wheels will have the most popular trailer sailer in the Viko range, the Viko S21, available for trail sailing on the South coast from April 2022. We can also arrange for test sails in other Viko models in other parts of the UK.
