Own a nearly new Astus 22.5 with a massive specification!

Its 2 years old so, we’re putting our Astus 22.5 demonstrator on the market at a big discount on the new price.

Since we took delivery of our own demonstrator at the end of the 2022 season this Astus 22.5 has proved a big hit with British customers. Sea trial participants have grinned from ear to ear once they’ve experienced the exhilaration which comes with sailing at speed. Yet, even timid sailers have praised the 22.5 for the reassuringly low angle of heel and the comfortable ride.

Designed by world renowned naval architects, VPLP, and first unveiled in 2021, this boat attracted many plaudits. Replacing the Astus 22 and 24, the new design has even larger floats, providing massive buoyancy and their wave piercing shapes keep this boat powering through the chop. Yet, thanks to the Astus tried and trusted telescopic beams this trimaran boat can be rapidly contracted from it’s super stable 4.9m sailing platform to a marina-friendly 3.0m, or a road legal towing width of 2.5m.

The 22.5 is manufactured using Astus’ successful resin infusion process making the boat stiff and very light at only 650kg, so acceleration off the slightest puff of wind is instant. Whether helming from the trampolines or inside the cockpit the 22.5 is a joy to sail. Even when sailing single handed, double digit speeds are effortless. This boat can quickly reach destinations which are beyond those of similarly sized monohulls.

The 22.5 is practical too. The boat is light enough to tow behind an ordinary family car and mast raising and float deployment can be done single handed with the aid of clever kits. Like all of the recent Astus boats the 22.5 has minimal draught when the swing keel and rudder are retracted, floating in only 34cm of water. The centreboard case is cleverly offset to port, permitting easy access to the light and airy cabin which offers good headroom for a 22 footer and 4 full berths with plenty pof storage down below. The boat provides plenty of storage above deck too with an anchor locker ahead of the coach-roof, further watertight lockers in the floats and in the cockpit sole as well as open storage under the cockpit bench seats.

Being a demonstrator, this fine example comes with a massive specification, including everything needed to start sailing:

  • a break-back road trailer with flushing kit, spare wheel and mast support bar
  • Sports sails – fully battened square top main and furling jib with UV cover and two reefs
  • Sports gennaker on bowsprit with closed loop furler and 2 Harken ST15 winches
  • Mainsail lazyjack bag
  • Sport equipment including deckware by Selden, Harken and Ronstan.
  • Mast lifting kit
  • Float opening/closing kit
  • Stainless steel pulpit
  • Transom mounted mast support bar with roller for transport and single handed mast stepping.
  • Coppercoat antifouling (2023)
  • a Mariner 6hp 4 stroke outboard motor with external tank
  • Bunk cushions for all berths with v-berth infill
  • Courtesy curtain
  • Galley units
  • Cabin shelves
  • Electrics including switch panel, leisure battery, cabin lighting
  • Opening portal in coachroof
  • Raymarine i40 log & depth instrument
  • Fortess anchor, chain and line
  • Bathing ladder
  • Cockpit table
  • Fenders and lines
  • Horseshoe life buoy
  • Windex

An Astus 22.5, if delivered to the UK, with this massive specification would currently cost £78,000* new. We’re offering our 2022 demonstrator at only £55,950! So grab a bargain and start sailing the exciting Astus 22.5 straight away.
