The BTC-22, ‘Last Fling’, has come onto the market having been substantially upgraded for racing by her current owner. Yet cruisers will find lots to like too…

Designed by Buckley Yacht Design the British built BTC-22 performance trailer sailer has been shaped around the needs of single handed, family and racing sailors alike.
Boasting a light weight hull, a meaty (lifting) lead bulb keel, a large open cockpit, coupled with a contemporary hull shape and long water line, the BTC-22 is sure to please the sporty sailor. A central helming location and and optimum deck layout mean that the BTC-22 can be sailed single handed or with a full racing crew.

Last Fling has all the characteristics of the rest of the BTC-22 fleet – great stiffness, balance and performance – yet, the owner has added plenty more to make this boat hard to beat around the cans:  a taller rig, bigger kevlar upwind sails, two symmetric spinnakers with carbon pole, one asymmetric spinnaker, a longer central rudder, backstay bumkin, extra cockpit bracing and a brand new chartplotter, still in its box. All this is presented on a boat with stunning blue topsides to stand out from the crowd.

The BTC22 is a fun family boat too with plenty of room above and below deck. The cockpit has three large lockers, including one, under the cockpit sole, big enough to stow an outboard motor and tender. In the large airy cabin the BTC22 has 4 berths – one generous 2 metre V berth and two giant settee berths measuring 2.5 metres each – and all berths come with storage lockers under. With a galley unit and a further storage cabinet amidships as well as space below the V berth for a removable chemical toilet, you have all the components needed for comfortable overnight stays.

Originally delivered as a ‘plug’ boat to make the moulds for the BTC-22, MK2, Last Fling was built in glassed-over marine ply and came with a sparse racing interior. Since then, the owner has made Last Fling a comfortable cruiser too. He has added bunk tops, cushions and a cabin table to make the most of Last Fling’s generous interior space.  All this makes longer stays on board a definite possibility. Thanks to her lifting keel and her robust road trailer, Last Fling can be pulled out of the water and towed home or to her next sailing adventure.
