Pointer Yachts

Pointer Yachts are built at the Jachtwerf Heeg BV in the Netherlands – a country well known for outstanding yacht design and exacting building standards. The Heeg yard has been building keelboats and yachts for over 70 years and, since 2014, has introduced their Pointer range of small yachts. All Pointer Yachts have been unashamedly designed around the sailing enthusiast, so they offer speed, balance, easy handling and clever features to enhance the sailing experience. Being designed for sailing in shallow Dutch waters, all Pointer Yacht designs feature shallow-draught keels as standard, so they offer great ‘creek-crawling’ opportunities. Yet, unlike some yachts on the market, which come with shallow-keel options, the Pointer yachts have shallow-water sailing in their DNA. As a result, Pointer yachts are designed to be narrow to ensure that the shallow keel performs to optimum efficiency and offer low freeboard to keep the centre of effort as close to the waterline as possible. We have tested all of the Pointer models extensively, and we can endorse the outstanding sailing characteristics of these yachts!

The Pointer Yachts currently offer 3 models, starting with the Pointer 22 daysailer, the award-winning Pointer 25 family weekender and their most recent Pointer 30 fast cruiser. Of the three models, only the Pointer 22, with its lift keel which slots right into the hull, can be regarded as a genuine trailer sailer. The two larger models come with fixed keels, but being such shallow-draught and narrow-beamed designs, both are still legally trailable on British roads. What’s more, their low freeboard and their class-leading low-weight characteristics mean that they can be towed by a wide range of cars.
