Sorry, now sold,  ‘Dragonfly’ a 2006 Jeanneau Sun 2000 with trailer in well-presented condition.

Jeanneau Sun 2000s are super popular as trailer sailers. Thanks to a flush-fitting, easy-to-operate swing keel and rudder, these cruiser/racers float in only 30 cm of water with the keel up, so they are simple to launch and recover. Not only this but these Sun 2000s can be easily beached, making them ideal for creek explorers and families with young children. Yet, 1.6m of draught with the keel down provides plenty of pointing ability under sail, and a contemporary hull shape makes this yacht very slippery off the wind too. A huge cockpit can accommodate a decent group of friends or family, and there is room below for 4, with a V-berth in the bow and two giant quarter berths under the cockpit benches.

Dragonfly is a ‘Comfort Edition’ with floorboards, a galley, pumped fresh water, 12v electrics and beige cushions. We know Dragonfly rather well, as we sold her to her current owner during the Covid era. At the time we gave her the full treatment and added a comprehensive inventory of additional equipment for her new owner. We gave her:

  • A complete trailer overhaul, including new coupling and 1.8t axle with wheels, tyres, brakes and bearings
  • New standing rigging
  • New deck organisers and coachroof clutches
  • A new cockpit width mainsheet track and car
  • A new Icom M330GE VHF DSC radio
  • A new switch panel
  • A new compass
  • A new B&G Triton 2 depth, log and wireless wind instrument
  • New mast cabling
  • and lots more!

Since then the owner has extensively sailed Dragonfly with and without his family and added even more to her inventory:

  • New Tohatsu 6HP 4-stroke engine with separate tank and battery charging cable (2021)
  • Complete hull treatment – sanded back to gelcoat, primed and painted with racing antifoul (2025)
  • New Owen Sails jib (2022)
  • New, lighter spinnaker sheets
  • New masthead wind instrument (2026)
  • Gooseneck replaced (2023)
  • Added a dismountable cockpit GPS  (2022)
  • Replaced battery (2023)
  • New solar panel (2022)
  • Shore power 240v battery charger added
  • Keel removed, rebushed, new pivot pin added and nylon cheeks fitted (2021)
  • Plexiglass washboard added
  • Trailer brakes were replaced in 2023.
