Just in, ‘Saphire’ an Astus 16.1 trailerable trimaran built in 2010. Requiring no ballast, these little Astus trimarans are easy to tow and move around by hand on their trailer. Yet their floats, on telescopic arms, which can be extended in minutes, provide a wide stable platform on the water, providing high speeds with a low angle of heel to suit even the most timid of crew members. Rigging is easy – the mast can be raised single handed and there is no complicated boom to fit. Being faster than equivalent monohull cruisers the Astus 16.1 boasts a wider range, whether single handed or with the whole family on board. The lockable forward cuddy is cavernous, enabling not only sail and equipment storage, but even substantial amounts of kit for overnight stays and longer distance cruising. Floating in only 25cm of water these boats make creep crawling a  real pleasure and thanks to the swing rudder they will happily take the ground.

Saphire comes with an extensive inventory including a sturdy Rocca Nautilus break back road trailer which enables boat launch and recovery without immersing the wheels. She also has a custom built launch trailer for easier manoeuvring by hand, even on soft terrain. She boasts a sturdy Banks all over cover, a light 2.5hp Mariner two stroke outboard, a tender with a built in wheel, wooden oars and its own trolley, coppercoat antifouling, a wing mast and a full suite of sails including a large fully battened main, furling jib and an ‘as new’ furling gennaker. In addition, she comes equipped with a swinging rudder with a long tiller extension,  a 9lb anchor with line, fenders, mooring lines, fuel tank and even a bird scarer!

Saphire is now ready for viewings at our site in Hampshire. So if you to see her or if you have any questions please get in touch.
